I know you are aiming on pushing the bg further back, but the wall paper looks too blurry to me. You could take the original designs for the bg, select them, fill them with gradients, etc., and just slightly blur them slightly with the Gaussian Blur filter. Watch color of shadows and direction. Hard to read interior of box lid where it is lifted up. Lots of good detail on a difficult assignment!
