For my matte painting, I took a greek temple and put it in a snowy mountain scene.

Matte Painting

concept art in prog

So I somehow ended up with the most obnoxiously idyllic scene ever. Not done, it still needs stuff- for example, an interesting subject. There's also some texture mismatch with the grass, and the mountains need work (did those first, you can tell). But yeah.. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

I basically photochopped together a bunch of my own photos from various places (Alaska, Switzerland, Colorado) and started with a quick trace/sketch as seen below. Then I painted awayyy. Painting a huge scene kinda stressed me out, because there was so much to worry about. I'm way more comfortable with still lifes and portraits.. need moar landscape practice.

Sunrise Concept Painting

Here is a concept painting I did of the sun rising between massive pillars of stone.

Winter in Germany

For my matte painting I took a photo that I captured in Germany and added snow as well as mountains in the background. I also adjusted the colors so that it appeared cooler.

Sacred Pool

my concept art...idea for sacred worship pool scene..

Beach Scene

This is my beach scene. I merged multiple beaches together. I decided I want to include some sort of sand castle so I just added a placeholder for now. I plan to add texture and paint over the castle. It's still a work in progress

Grand Library concept WiP

This piece is proving to be a huge challenge for me. Prespective and man-made objects are my major weaknesses in my artwork, hopefully I will take away a lot from this.

Current Progress

I want to create a light, airy feel to this space.
