Nice work, Trisha, as is expected :-) I like the almost out of focus scattering of light from edge of hat, and the subtle modeling of the face. You have not actually studied the face in great detail -- none of the students have, I don't think -- but you might benefit from another level of perception of facial detail if you want to go that way. Very nice subtle gradient up to light in bg. Good.
