icebound and down
Final penguin painting. I finished it up like a month ago in time for the Lucasfilm contest, and I recently found out it was selected as one of the first prize winners! I guess my 'creative' take on the theme went over well :)
Of course looking back, there are tons of things I'd like to change already. You know what they say.. art is never finished, it's only taken away from you.

Hansel and Gretel Prints going to M.R. at D.
As you know Michelle very much liked the Hansel and Gretel projects and has asked for prints, so the Viz Office would like to send them off. Very good to have others see your work.... Any comments, please email me.
Handing in Work? Where is your Work? Competition?
*I wrote previously that work was due between 10 am and 1 pm Tuesday.
Need disk(s) of work INCLUDING GROUP PROJECT.
If I have not seen print, must include print.
However I won't be in my office until c 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday.
Also Wed, 10:40 to 3:30.
Otherwise you can just slip work under my door.
* Work that was in the show was collected by the department to exhibit in the Student Advising Office across from the Dean's Office. They need fabulous art. It will be available at the end of the summer. If that does not work for you, please email me.
* Competition Deadline was changed to 10 am Tuesday, tomorrow.

penguin wip
the penguins are going to get a lot more detail, and I will also work over the 'tundra', probably adding in a few more signs sticking up in perspective. definitely needs some kind of texture too.
anyway I'm very open to comments and suggestions.. this painting seems to be continually evolving.

Printing for Monday's Class & Wednesday's Show
Print: M 11:20-1:40; Probably Print: M 1:00-3:00
Print: T 9:15-12:15 and Probably Print: T 2:00 0 4:00 pm
Based on this information from Rachel:
Rachel Bradley is in the print shop, 3rd floor Bldg C, MW 11:20am - 1:40pm and TR 9:15am - 12:15pm. Michael is probably there MW 1pm - 3pm and TR 2pm - 4pm.
The hours are posted on the door of the print room so anyone can check them if they are curious.
You can also print ground floor Langford A and Copy Corner.

The Final Painting: Changes
Considering how sick and tired you look,
I have extended deadline on the final, if you need it.
I don't need final for grading until during exam period.
I could use it for exhibition before, if that works out,
but you could show something else.
I will not take off points for it being in by Tuesday 5/10, at 5 pm.
Final Painting... so...
1) If you can finish and print by last class, Monday 5/2,
good - it will be in the Spring Show.
2) If you can finish and print by Wed 5/4 at 9:30 am,
good - it will be in the Spring Show.
3) If you can finish and print by Tuesday 5/10 at 5 pm,
good - it will not be in the Spring Show,
but I can still grade it.
You can put another wonderful work in the show.
M 5/9 Remove work before noon from Spring Show
Help if you can. We will put work in my office.
You can pick up Tuesday morning.
T 5/10 10 am - 1 pm: drop off disk of work at my office
PSD high res, all work. If you have in layers, that would be good too.
If you have jpegs too, great.

here's my in-prog image. still have a lot of work ahead of me, but after tomorrow I only have this to work on... woooo. the city and frozen McDonalds guy are just placeholder images, obviously (and the McDonalds guy will probably not end up so McDonalds-y)
this is my first sketch. as you can see, i've changed up the color scheme to warm sunset colors

Hansel and Gretel Project: Hi Res images for Michelle
Yes, Michelle would like high res images of the H&G Project, large enough so she could read them.

final project progress 3?
i think i need to add more ships fighting in the background and some more weapons on the back of the central ship
work in progress toward my final

Rhododendron Rex - wip
Daring adventurer Rhododendron Rex comes across a giant chunk of amber while exploring through the Amazon rainforest. He suddenly notices there are two mysterious figures encased in the amber. Wondering how in the heck two figures came to be stuck in amber, he steps forward for a closer look. At that second, a giant carnivorous plant lurches out of the brush to make Rex its next tasty snack.
The image above is the environment in which the battle between Rhododendron Rex and the plant will take place. More to come... DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN
