Rage Portrait WiP

I worked with finding colors the matched the energy of anger. Warm colors are also energetic colors. As I paint, I use the eyedropper (in brush, you can press Alt to access the eyedropper, there should be a button on the tablet too). The eyedropper helps me pick colors and values created by the opacity of the brush. It is similar to blending with a real paintbrush.

Expression In Progress

This is still a work in progress. I have been playing with the complimentary color scheme trying to find one that appears contemplative without looking alien, I have just realized the eye was positioned in the wrong place so I am reshaping a few areas. The base colors are down for the most part, I just need to go in and add the details.

Self Portrait Prelim Critique

This is my second self portrait in progress. I used low opacity brushes including the brushes I created at the beginning of the semester.

The yellowish background is my newer image. I used the smudge tool and am working on the lip tutorial.

Color/Emotion Preliminary Critique

One thing I learned while messing around with the original photo is how to use the color dodge brush setting to achieve a glowing effect.

Commedia dell'arte Prelim Critique Painting...

A snapshot from the classic Commedia dell'arte play Servant of Two Masters where Truffaldino was caught by Florindo. One thing I focused heavily on was to not use any blacks or whites for making shadows and lighting. Instead, for shadows I used blues and purples. While at the same time I used reds and yellows for lighting.
